Clean Out Your Closets And Change Someone's Life

stand down webAfter a plentiful Christmas, you may be cleaning out your closets to make room for new clothes; what should you do with the clothes you no longer need? You could make a difference in a Veteran's life! On January 4th, 2020, Escondido's five Rotary Clubs will work together to collect clothing for homeless veterans  in front of the Escondido City Hall.

We will be collecting men’s and women’s new and used clothing, including jackets, sweatshirts and shoes of all sizes along with blankets, towels and new underwear and socks to be given to needy veterans during the North County Veteran Stand Down Thursday, February 6th through Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Green Oak Ranch in Vista.

It is the fourth year that the combined Rotary Clubs in Escondido have teamed up for the New Year’s clothing drive, which is timed to take advantage of folks cleaning out their closets after the holidays.

Clothing donations will be given to AMVETS and brought to Green Oak Ranch for the North County Veteran Stand Down, an annual four-day event that provides essential services to homeless veterans from across San Diego County to receive much-needed services in a safe, drug-free and secure environment.
